Introduction

Historically, women were excluded from sports, but within the last 30 years women have brought a flare to the sports world and have preformed some amazing fleets.  Some most notable athletes are Sheryl Swoop’s, Candice Parker, Venus and Serena Williams, Danica Patrick, Mia Hamm and Anna Kournikova.  These women have performed well in the sports world and their strong personalities cast them in the lime light as professional athletes. The participation of girls and women in organized sports creates a good positive self-image for all females.
